To Mizonokuchi Cave

The cave, said to have been formed over thousands of years by the erosion of spring water from Mount Kirishima. As you proceed through the pitch-dark cave, you will come to a mysterious space with the green of the mountain and the red of the torii gate at the end.

It is also designated as a natural monument by the prefecture and the first national designated cultural property in Soo City.

Kirishima Jingu Shrine, also designated as a national treasure

The main hall of Kirishima Jingu Shrine (Honden, Heiden, and Hai-den), which was recently designated as a national treasure in 2022.

The Kirishima Jingu Togoroshido and the Imperial Hall are also designated as National Important Cultural Properties.

It is said as one of the Seven Wonders that if you look at the sacred tree on the right side facing the main shrine from the back, it looks like “the figure of a priest dressed in costume.
